The Gracie Tudor Project

Gracies neuroblastoma Model project we plan to grow human neuroblastoma cells (from biopsy/tumour from patients and lines ) in cultures with human immune cells, in order to try and replicate or 'model' neuroblastoma tumours in patients, to ensure the immune cells look similar , and then use it to test different combinations of immunotherapy treatments .The aim will be to help and develop an accurate model, which allows efficient testing of different immunotherapies and reduces the need to use mouse models . This approach has already been use within there centre for cancer immunology to replicate adult tumours such as breast cancer . We will plan to complete the project over 24 months with and experienced post-doctoral researcher conducting the work alongside a current project and Dr Juliet Grey will be the project lead. Members of Gracies will be updated on the progress of the project on an annual basis over two years ,and will be offered to visit the lab where the project will take place .Overall, approximately one day per week will be spent working on the project over this period .
